NZPT COVERAGE & NZPT

Rules request that all media covering the NZPT (press, radio, television and bloggers) give the event organisers full recognition in their coverage of the event. This should include crediting the New Zealand Poker Tour, NZPT, in the first daily mention of each post in a blog. For example, reports might say the "NZPT New Zealand Poker Tour Grand Final" or the "NZPT Grand Final".

REGISTRATION

  • Journalists must register for each NZPT event using the online accreditation form and give full details including the journalist's name, name and type of organisation, type of coverage planned and full contact details. If an individual journalist is planning to come to more than one event (or all of them), they still need to apply for accreditation for EACH event.
  • Depending on demand, the organisers may need to limit the number of media passes issued.
  • Freelance journalists should apply online as usual, providing a letter of assignment from an editor of the organisation you will be representing - either printed on letterhead paper, or in an email originating from the organisation's formal domain.
  • Media passes are NOT transferable. If, for any reason, you need to change personnel before or during an event, please contact info@nzpt.com as soon as possible.
  • Online media registration will close 48 hours before each event.

ATTENDING AN NZPT EVENT

Organisers will endeavour to provide media facilities, including press room equipped with wireless or cable internet access, wherever possible. Only accredited media are allowed access to the media room and/or any other media facilities. At most events, soft drinks and/or snacks will be made available for accredited media.

MEDIA ROOM REGULATIONS

  • In order to conserve bandwidth at events where wireless internet access is provided, we politely request you to DISCONNECT your wireless connection while you are not actively using it for work purposes. We also request all media NOT to use bandwidth for non-essential, non-work activities (such as playing online poker, downloading files etc). Journalists found abusing this risk losing their accreditation for that event.
  • Please do not leave valuables in the media room - organisers cannot take responsibility for any items left in the media room and/or tournament area.
  • For security reasons - and because space is often very limited - please do not invite players, colleagues or friends into the media room.

TOURNAMENT AREA - PROCEDURES

  • In the tournament area, it is essential that the tournament director and his staff, and the organisers' film crew, are allowed to go about their work unhindered at all times. If you are asked to leave a particular area, please do so immediately. Media who refuse to follow instructions from any organiser or member of the organisers' film crew risk losing their accreditation for the rest of the event.
  • During the later stages of each NZPT event, when we are down to a fewer number of tables, it will be necessary to clear the playing area of non-essential participants, including media. This is to ensure that the players, tournament director and organisers' TV crew can go about their business unheeded.
  • When the playing area is cleared, organisers will endeavour to provide a separate cordoned-off media area.

PHOTOGRAPHY

  • In some venues, photography is not allowed anywhere outside the tournament area and any photographer found to infringe casino regulations is likely to have their media pass rescinded.
  • During the event, when we are down to a fewer number of tables, it will be necessary to clear the playing area of non-essential participants, including media. This is to ensure that the players, tournament director and organisers' coverage team can go about their business unheeded.
